Go, Fight, Win!!
I have been so busy lately with the girls and big part of that is due to cheerleading. I'm the assistant cheer coach for their team and it is taking a lot more of my time than I realized. But the girls LOVE it so it makes me love it too!
They have to perform a dance routine during half time at their homecoming game next month so I have to start making up their routine. Should be fun since I haven't danced formally since college! LOL Hope the girls don't think it's lame! LOL
I'm on the PTA Board this year too and did not realize how much time that takes as well. These ladies are serious about their PTA! LOL
So that is why sewing has seem to take a back seat these days. But with the economy the way it is right now sales have slowed way down for everyone. That is why I am now making more sweet, practical outfits over at Etsy. If you haven't had a chance to pop over there, please do to take a peek at all the fabulous things I have listed at super awesome prices.
I will post some pics of my new stuff on another day. Thanks for stopping by to read my blog!

Introducing My Newest Design...The Curtsy Skirt!
I'm starting to focus more of my energies over at Etsy now. It just makes more sense to make practical yet affordable couture clothing versus spending countless hours making these over the top creations that most people just cannot afford!
While I still love making those types of designs, I will reserve those types of outfits for special Ebay listings.
My newest creation is a line of FABULOUS skirts I'm calling The Curtsy Skirt! They have angled panels that give it just the right amount of flare at the bottom as if she were curtsying all on her own!
These skirts will only be available on Etsy for the time being. But be on the lookout for more pieces to my new line of clothing!

Smorelicious!!
I just listed this fabulous 4pc set on Ebay! I just love this fabric called Smores by Moda. Such fun, girly colors!
I seem to always sway back and forth between the Euro style of designs and the more classic styles. It keeps the designing part of my job fun and exciting!
Now I can take a breath for just a minute before I start working on some custom orders. It just never seems to end! LOL

Hooty Boo!!!
I've got a guest launch today and the theme is Halloween and this is what I came up with. I wanted to make something that wasn't necessarily so specific to Halloween.
I think you can wear this one all fall and winter and not feel it's just a Halloween set! How comfy is knit fabric for little ones anyway?
Sydney just loved this one so this is gonna be a keeper for us! So I will custom make this one to the winning bidder!
I will also have the most fabulous Holiday set up tomorrow for Boutique Eden's launch that you just won't want to miss! So go check out my Ebay listings this week when you get a chance!!

Back to School Already???
Now it's August and I'm back in full swing with designing and sewing. I've got some new plans for Southern Sass Couture's future and will be sharing those with you soon! In the meantime I'm planning on continuing to list some of my designs on Ebay, but really plan on focusing more of my energy on Etsy.
I'm not sure why I cannot catch on to this whole blogging thing. I'm trying though! It seems I spend time on trying to update my links, trying to get current pictures uploaded, etc. and it's taking away from so many other things that need to get done!
I do hope everyone has had a wonderful summer break and looking forward to the fall and holiday season. I just cannot believe it is almost here! Wow!
I PROMISE I will make an effort to blog more and keep you updated on what is going on with me and Southern Sass Couture! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'M A BAD BLOGGER!!!!
So I'm apologizing to those that actually pop on here to read my blog. I'm sure most have given up since I havent' posted in 2 months! Geez!
With all of that said, I did want to let you know that I will be going on vacation to the beach the second week of June. Yea!!! A full week of rest and relaxation...yeah right! I forgot I'm taking the kids! LOL Seriously, it will be good to just get away with family and friends to have some fun. We are going with 2 other couples and their children and it should be a great time. We are big game players so once we put the kids to bed we will play poker, games and the Wii.
Complete change of subject. I cannot wait until June 22nd! The Wii will be releasing Rock Band. If you have never played that on XBox or Playstation, then you MUST give it a try. Soooo fun! One person can sing, one plays lead guitar, one plass bass guitar and one is the drummer. You will have to purchase the extra guitar BTW. Loads of fun! I have a feeling when we get it, I won't be blogging or sewing. I will be practicing my drumming skills! LOL Thanks for listening. I will try to be a better blogger in the future!

I've been Tagged!
Here are the rules:
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
1. I used to work as a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator prior to having children.
2. Many, many years ago, I was a body builder and trained for Miss Fitness USA.
3. I have a mild case of OCD and I will share one odd thing that I do. When I take a shower I can only turn over my left shoulder to face the water and then back over my right to let the water spray my back. I can never make a full circle in the shower. How weird is that? LOL
4. I am a neat freak and my friends call my house a museum and always joke that you can literally eat off my floors. (You really can! LOL)
5. I used to suffer from anorexia which is partially what led me to become a Registered Dietitian.
6. I can write with my toes.
7. I own well over 100 pairs of shoes!
Now you know some strange things about me! LOL These are the people I've tagged.
Gocksfrocks
My Little Fairytales

Francellas Boutique Designs
Peytons Place Boutique
GenMarie Boutique
Wendys World Art
High School Musical on Ice
So how cute are they? One of my dear friends and I took our daughters to see HSM on Ice yesterday and we all had so much fun! We took a train ride over to avoid traffic and parking and it ended up being a fun adventure for the kids.
I have 2 girls and my oldest is the one on the far left and my youngest is the little brunette on the far right. I'm half Japanese and half Irish so I'm guessing that is where Skyler gets her blonde hair and blue eyes. Little Sydney has all the Asian traits except for the slanted eyes! LOL
Back to our day...we decided to get the girls all of their HSM goodies prior to the event and I'm so glad we did. It's just amazing what kind of prices those places charge for things. $35 for a kid sized t-shirt! We got ours at Kohls for like $8! The day before we were running around like mad women trying to find anything HSM to fill our HSM totes! We wanted the girls to have something to do on the train ride and their big present was the new Gabriella and Sharpay barbies with the microphone. It's so sweet. The microphone plays the music so the girls can sing the songs, but when they hold the microphone to the dolls mouth, the doll will start singing the words wherever the music is at in the song. Gabriella sings her break-up song from HSM 2 and Sharpay sings "Fabulous".
That place was filled with screaming girls. Our girls were holding up posters and waving glow sticks like they were at a real rock concert. We were so tickled and it was at that moment I realized how much fun it was to have little girls to do all these girly things with. Check back with me 10 years from now and I'm sure I will have a different opinion! LOL
Thanks for letting me share!

SPRING BREAK!
We are officially on Spring Break this week. When I think of Spring Break, I thik of the beach. Maybe it's because I always went to the beach during my Spring Breaks in college. It's only Monday and I'm trying to figure out our plans for the entire week. The weather is cloudy/rainy today and tomorrow so it looks like indoor plans. But hopefully we can venture out and do some more exciting things outdoors as the week progresses. I'm hoping the weather will warm up enough so I can turn the heater on the pool and let the girls swim.
The girls and I went to a movie this morning, then out to lunch and finished our afternoon getting our nails done. The girls had fun and just love getting their nails done!
So what are your big plans for Spring Break? Do you typically take time off work and travel? This is the first year for me to have a child in school and it has taken some adjustment for me to get used to following a schedule of sorts. We used to just take off when we wanted and now we can't do that with a child in school. I don't like being on "vacation" when everyone else is. Frankly because I don't like crowds.
If you are on Spring Break now, I hope you and your family have a wonderful "break" and enjoy some family bonding!

ON THE HUNT!
We are on Spring Break next week so the preschool and school's are having their Easter parties this week. Toot Toot's preschool party was this morning. Those kids were running around like crazy chickens trying to find those eggs! LOL I still managed to get some decent pictures of toot toot in action! It's a perfect day with the sun shining and the temperature in the 60's.
Now I've got to get my oldest daughter an outfit made for her party. She feels a bit left out since Sydney is my model, she has a closet full of mommy's creations and I just don't have time to make my oldest boutique clothes. So she feels vere special when I have the chance to make something for her. Geez, now I'm tearing up!
I'm off to get the kiddos from school and to enjoy the rest of this beautiful weather!

NEW LISTINGS UP!
I've just listed this fab and funky set! The fabric is so 70's to me! I was so excited to finally find the one spot inside my house that I could take a decent indoor picture and then the time changed! LOL Now I would have to take the pictures an hour later in the morning and we are never home at that time! Wahh!
The weather is always fluctuating here in Texas. One day it's in the 80's and literally the next day it's in the 30's and 40's! That's why you might see some pictures taken outside by the palm trees and others in the house. I just wish I could master the art of photography along with all the photo editing software that everyone uses. I mean who has the time? If I'm not sewing, I'm sitting here on this 'puter checking emails, listing items, trying to sort out html for this and that, etc. LOL
Do you notice how easy it is to sit down in front of the 'puter for just a second to check on something...yeah right. You then look up and an hour has past! Yikes! It's a wonder I get anything done! LOL Let me see if I can post a link to my current listings here.
OK dinner has been done and is now getting cold! I'm getting off this computer to feed my starving kids! LOL

MY FIRST POST!!
My life is so busy that I have been having a very tough time trying to balance raising young children and sewing! LOL My oldest is in Kindergarden and I just didn't realize how busy I would be with her school and activities. That combined with trying to be a good wife, mother and friend has been a bit challenging!
So that has left me questioning how I can continue to do what I enjoy doing and still be a good parent and wife? I've asked other designers how they do it and it seems many of us feel the same way and have yet to get it all figured out! I know I would miss this whole custom boutique world if I left completely so right now I'm just confused!
It's getting late and I've got orders to do, so I guess I better end my first official and might I say depressing post! LOL I promise my next one will be better! Thanks for stopping by!
